FLASH PROMPT #  14

Your first challenge of the new year is thus!

Bullet; White ELEMENT ONE: Memento
Write a story backwards, beginning with the last sentence, and ending with the first sentence. You can choose to tackle this scene-by-scene, sentence-by-sentence, or in whatever manner you see fit. Just make sure that your story progresses reverse-chronologically through the events in-between.

But wait, there's more! (Really, by now you should know that there's always more.)

Bullet; White ELEMENT TWO: Otnemem
In addition, your word-count should be a mirror image of itself, with each sentence containing the exact same number of words as its opposite. So if the first sentence has 18 words in it, then so must the last sentence. If the fourth sentence has 7 words, then so must the fourth to last sentence, and so on, and so forth.

We know, it's hideous, and awful, and you'll have to plan in advance, and COUNT ALL THINGS. But on the bright side you do have two months to figure it out. Now kindly excuse us while we return to our evil lair to indulge in a light spot of maniacal laughter. EVIL Laughter!

When Cats FlyBack towards the place where cats learned to fly.
Back towards their home.
Midnight approached Angel and they walked towards the city together.
She was grateful that it’d happened while he was grounded.
And Angel, sensing her friend’s hurt pride, didn’t say she told him so.
Midnight would never admit that Angel was right when she predicted that the wings could disappear at any time.
Their day of flight had ended and they were normal cats once more.
To his horror, his back had met the same, sad fate.
Midnight slowly turned to look over his own shoulder, fearing the worst outcome.
The wings, once so broad and majestic, had simply vanished.
There weren’t any traces of blood, nor any scars.
As if they had never even shown up in the first place.
His eyes became shiny as he discovered he didn’t even need to glance at her back as he realized that her wings were gone.
Midnight’s heart sank as he realized what she must have meant.
She avoided all of his quest
Flash Prompts 2018 14th: Angel or Demon?Just how marvelous Demons are...
I thought that miracles didn't happen. Yet here I was, in an angel's arms.
The magic sword fell from my pained hand with a clang. Then there was light. I heard screaming and then, suddenly, I felt weightless like a feather. Then... then I saw the shining source of light...
The Wind Demon came closer to me, whispering menacingly, "You are mine now, pretty warrior..." I collapsed to my knees, understanding that it would kill me now. I had failed, I could see it painfully clearly now. Now that I looked at the Wind Demon as whole, it looked beautiful despite of its wounds, like an angel.
I was dying slowly. There was no way I could survive this, I was a mere mortal with a sword. The Wind Demon was too strong for me. I had been foolish to think that I could defeat it or any demon at all. My people... forgive me...
The wind slashed at me violently, cutting my skin wide open. I was bleeding, bleeding, but not just my blood but my very soul a
