FLASH PROMPT #2 - TV EPIC

Bullet; Yellow ELEMENT ONE AND ONLY (because it's so awesome that anything else we came up with would only cheapen the results)

Adapt an ancient epic into the TV genre of your choice. We want to see Gilgamesh the medical drama, Beowulf the police procedural, and anything and everything else you can think of! Be innovative and bold, but remember, this is flash fiction so you'll have to choose your epic moment wisely.

For a list of Ancient Epics, go here:
 Epic Poetry or World folk-epics
For a list of TV genres, go here: Television genres or Film and television formats and genres

And be sure to let us know which Epic and TV Genre you chose!

<da:thumb id="637393326"/>  The Once and Future SuperheroArthur was beginning to think that the old man was some kind of half-crazed supervillain. He could have overlooked the loud Hawaiian-print shirt, cargo shorts, and socks-with-sandals ensemble; that was typical old guy fare, stupid-looking but ultimately harmless. The carved wooden hiking stick he carried around despite being hundreds of miles from the nearest hikeable patch of nature and the sunglasses worn even though it was night…that pushed it a bit more. The honest-to-god real live owl perched on his shoulder--was it even legal to keep a pet owl in this city? Arthur had no idea--that was…especially eccentric, to be kind about the phrasing.
But what really took the cake was him showing up out of nowhere, saying they needed to talk, and then…well, Arthur wasn’t really sure what he’d done. All he knew was that he’d blinked and somehow his surroundings had gone from a lonely street to the roof of a skyscraper, traffic lights blinking li
Flash Prompts 2016 2nd: DepartedThe power of Väinämöinen's music grown during the years, but even he could not stop this from happening. Even he could not have made this happen, nor stop this from happening. In fact, he had no idea how the things had become like this. How could someone become pregnant from a lingonberry?
He had not had answers when Marjatta had gotten pregnant nor he had them now.
The last songs he had played with his kantele kept his boat going on into the sundown...
The Band's Called JourneyThey’d been at her house for months now – every day, the boys would show up, uninvited, and just barge right into Penny’s life, trashing the place, throwing parties, trying to get her to give up on him. But she couldn’t – she couldn’t allow herself to believe that Odie was gone. His tour should have ended 37 weeks ago, but she knew he’d be back, knew something must have happened; he’d never have just left her alone. And so for 10 months, she remained faithful… and one day, her hope was rewarded, when a new boy showed up at the party.
She hadn’t seen him before – he was wearing the ripped black jeans and the big black hoodie, a stereotypical pushover. He took two steps in and got shoved over by one of the teens who kept bragging about how much he lifted – but the newcomer just stood back up and kept moving. Penny’s heart leapt as she watched from a distance while he sat down with the edgy teens in the corner &
  Knight-WearThe knight raised his visor.
Then he smiled across at the small group of peasants and gave them a little wave.
“Good day to you and welcome to this installment of ‘What Not To War’! I am Sir Beaumains and this—” He gestured to the beautiful woman standing beside him. “—is the Damosel Linet!”
Linet looked up, gave their audience a sour smile and went back to rearranging her wimple.
Beaumains frowned, and returned his attention to the peasants.
“Now, if you were with us last time, you’ll remember we met the Black Knight.”
Beaumains turned to the Damosel Linet.
“So… what did you think of the Black Knight’s outfit? Do you think it did anything for him?”
Linet stopped fiddling with her wimple and raised an eyebrow.
“Not enough apparently. Seeing as you slew him.”
Beaumains smiled a little weakly. “You have to admit it was an attractive suit of armour though.”
Linet rolled
On Fire ForIt is not their wedding, but prom night.
It seems somehow no less nerve-wracking. Iphis is more comfortable than he expected to be in the suit, his hair gelled up and his tie knotted into a neat trinity. His heart pounds with no assistance from even his most comfortable binder, and he hopes he doesn’t drop Ianthe’s bouquet while he’s waiting out here on her doorstep.
The door opens, and out she steps, golden-haired Ianthe with her warm smile and her knowing eyes, resplendent in richly draping peach fabric. Somehow he gets the flowers to her, manages to tell her a little of how beautiful he thinks she is before his mouth stops cooperating with his words, and then they are walking off with her arm resting lightly on his. It is quite lightly, given that her heels make her a good deal taller than he is, but neither of them mind.
The party is fine, really. There’s music and people and weird lighting that seems to make everything glow like a dream, e
